Cape Coast Lily

Common name: Cape coast lily
Botanical name: Crinum powellii 'Album' Family: Amaryllidaceae (Nargis family)
Crinums are majestic bulb plants whose massive, fragrant clusters of 3- to 6-inch lily like flowers bloom atop 2- to 3-foot stalk. Most bloom in late summer and fall, although some types bloom in late spring in mild climates. Arching out from the base of the stalks are strap like leaves 2 to 4 feet long. The flowers of Crinums look like lilies. Up to 15 trumpet shaped, white flowers often bloom twice a summer.
